Maggie Currie

Hi dear friends,

Time is flying by and this week we have our last guest of the month, as next week we have The Coaching Panel’s panel. But that is for next week. Let me introduce to you this week’s guest: Maggie Currie.

Maggie was born in Braintree, Essex, an illegitimate baby left in a children’s home. She was adopted and brought up in Barkingside, Essex and was sent to a private school at age 11 and achieved all the qualifications necessary to be a secretary. Her first job at the age of 16 was with the Legal & General Assurance Society in London where she started out as a shorthand typist, progressing to personal secretary by the time she left to have her family at age 22. She married at age 19 and had three children. Unfortunately this marriage did not last and she remarried at age 32 and moved to Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

Returning to work when the children were old enough she worked for the NHS as the secretary to a Professor of Thoracic Medicine at The London Chest Hospital and subsequently for a Consultant Psychiatrist at Parklands Hospital in Basingstoke, where they had moved to from Southend-on-Sea in Essex when the children had all left home.

She relocated to the Isle of Wight in 2003, having had a holiday home there since 1998, which was intended to be a retirement home. The move was prompted by the premature death of their next door neighbour just before her 60th birthday.

She started her own secretarial business on the Island aimed at small businesses who could not afford to employ another person. This has built up from just 1 customer in 2004 to over 60 currently.

Whilst on a Business Link course in 2004 she met someone who was undertaking a Life Coaching course with Newcastle College, and it was free at that time. It sounded interesting to her and she had nothing to lose, so she took their free Certificate and Diploma courses as well and successfully qualified as Personal Life Coach. Maggie also discovered that she loved coaching.

She bumped into Jonathan Jay, who she remembered from his stage hypnotic act some ten years before in the holiday camps on the Isle of Wight, at a Small Business Exhibition at the NEC in 2005 and he suggested that she joins him at the Coaching Academy to gain even better qualifications, which she did and successfully qualified as a Corporate & Executive Coach.

She met Dawn Breslin through the Coaching Academy and loved the work she did and the way she did it, and trained with her to become a Confidence Life Coach Practitioner and Confidence Group Trainer. She loves this even more than just coaching.

More recently Maggie has been licensed by Susan Jeffers to present her workshops based on her book “Feel the fear and do it anyway”. This is just fabulous.

She is on a mission to inspire everyone to find and live their passions - to be their authentic, true self. She feels her job is to be responsive, flexible and enabling, to draw out the star in people. In particular, she is skilled in rebuilding people’s self-esteem and confidence, enabling them to develop to their full potential. To do all this requires a holistic, lively approach to personal and professional development, from the delivery of the training and coaching through to on-going support. And she is interested in results – no ifs, no buts.

She has articles published in:

  • European Coaching Institute Newsletter June 2006 – Is it cool to be happy?
  • Hearing Concern Magazine 2006 - "Benefits of Thought Field Therapy in adapting to loss of hearing"
  • Business Vision Magazine - September 2006 - Do you want your ideal work/life balance?

Maggie has recently started writing her first book on life coaching which she plans to have finished and published by the end of this year.

Maggie and myself are looking forward to welcome you as listener during the LIVE interview this coming Tuesday September 23rd 2008 at 20:00 UTC, which is: 21:00 GMT - 22:00 Brussels/Madrid - 16:00 New York.

If you may have any question for Maggie, feel free to use the comment section here below this post.

Have an outstanding day!

Instead of the live interview, you will be able to listen to the previous recorded panel that took place last week. The topic of that panel was: "What does a potential coaching client needs to look at when selecting a coach?"

I am really sorry for this late notice, but I hope that you enjoy last week’s panel.

The Coaching Panel’s Panel - 3

Dear friends and listeners,

Another month has passed and this means that on May 24th, the last Tuesday of the month, there will be the next panel on The Coaching Panel’s show.

The topic is the following: "What does a potential coaching client needs to look at when selecting a coach?"

There are more and more coaches getting on the market, which is really good, because this means that coaching is still growing and will stay forever. But on the other hand, it could get potential clients confused which coach to choose. I believe it would be an excellent idea to provide the listeners with your views about what is important for a client to look at before selecting a coach. It is a very pratical topic, but it will give the listeners and the general public a base which they could use to select a client.

The guests that will join me in on this month’s panel are Jackie Walker, Susan Bagyura and Joanne Mallon.

If you want to participate in the discussion, you have three possibilities:

- Chat live with me and my guests tommorrow during the show

- Discuss with other like-minded people in the forum of The Coaching Panel

- Leave your comment here at the end of this post.

My guests and myself are looking forward to have you as live listener to The Coaching Panel’s Panel tommorrow on Radio Coaching.

Have an outstanding week!

Susan Bagyura

Hi dear friends and colleagues,

In this week’s show, I have the pleasure to interview Susan Bagyura.

With over twenty-five years of sales and entrepreneurial experience, Susan Bagyura represents a viewpoint that covers several perspectives. Experienced in the environment of corporate America, Susan has also lived and worked in Zimbabwe, Ireland, England, and Austria. She works with small business owners and entrepreneurs helping them define and implement strategies and processes needed to create quantum leaps. This experience has given her a unique ability to analyze businesses and develop strategies that will quickly and effectively change the direction of those businesses.

Susan believes that success in every area of business and personal life is all about the mindset. The economy is all about mindset. While one person complains about how bad business is, someone else in the same industry and the same marketplace is experiencing their greatest growth. Instead of teaching people what to do, Susan shows them how to take the lid off their thinking and go after what they really can do! If you want your company to perform at optimum levels, then you must change the thinking of your people, starting at the top. It is critical to work from a higher level, not a lower.

Whatever is happening in the business is a reflection of what is happening in the mind of the top person. Mindset comes first…behaviors and results follow. Change the mindset and be prepared for quantum leaps in performance.

Blue Danube is a coaching, consulting and training company whose innovative service delivery model takes the best of products, skills and techniques to help clients achieve better results. Seminars, programs and products as delivered by Blue Danube Coaching will show how one can BE more, DO more and HAVE more.

Susan brings her expertise from years in sales, marketing, and the corporate world to a new level. Her solid experience as an Executive Leadership coach and a LifeSuccess Consultant give her book a combination of information and guidance that can make a good, successful business person into a stellar success living an abundant life. The Visionary Leader is a great first step to working with Susan and changing your business, your life and the world around you for the better.

Join Susan and me LIVE on Tuesday June 10th at 20:00 UTC - 22:00 CET - 21:00 GMT - 16:00 EST.

Have an outstanding day!

The Coaching Panel’s Panel - 2

Dear friends and listeners,

Another month has passed and this means that on May 27th, the last Tuesday of the month, there will be the next panel on The Coaching Panel’s show.

This month’s topic is ‘What impact can coaching have in the growth of the world?’ The field of coaching is each day growing bigger and bigger, which means that it’s impact in the world is growing and has/can have a positive influence on the growth of the world as a whole. With my guests, I will explore this question during the second panel of The Coaching Panel.

The guests that will join me in on this month’s panel are Martin Cornes and Baiju Solanki.

If you want to participate in the discussion, you have three possibilities:

- Chat live with me and my guests tommorrow during the show

- Discuss with other like-minded people in the forum of The Coaching Panel

- Leave your comment here at the end of this post.

Baiju Solanki

Hi dear friends and colleagues,

After having last week Martin Cornes as the first male guest on the show, I have immediatelely set up a second male guest on the show. This week’s guest is Baiju Solanki.

Baiju is Ei (Emotional Intelligence) Performance Coach. He runs his own company called Performance Coaching and Training Ltd. After Graduating in Psychology, he was in Lecturer in Psychology for 4 years, while at the same time completing his Masters in Sport Psychology. After teaching he went into Sales and worked for a company dealing with marketing solutions for Universities looking to attract International Students. The last 4 years he was Sales Director running the sales team, leading sales training and coaching. In 2001 he took a Coaching qualification and in 2006 Accelerated Coaching qualification specialising in developing emotional intelligence.

What he has found during his time teaching, in sales and coaching is that the key to peak performance is the emotional state you are in at any given moment. The emotional frame you are in will have a direct impact on your results and the level at which you are performing. The way to change your thinking is to change the way you look at things in your life. If you are not getting the results you want in your life you need to look at your beliefs. Your beliefs have a direct impact on the results you are getting in your life so if you want different results, address what are your limiting beliefs.

I will explore more in depth with Baiju about his coaching and the emotional intelligence. Join us on Tuesday May 20th 2008 at 20:00 UTC - 22:00 CET - 21:00 GMT - 16:00 EST.

Have an outstanding day!
